Do Pavers really need to be sealed?
Brick Paver Sealing will keep your patio, driveway, pool deck and walk ways easy to maintain and simple to clean. Brick Paver Sealing will keep the Pavers beautiful and like new. If not sealed they will become faded, uneven and consumed by weeds. Ants will become a problem at this point.
Just like any other area of the exterior of your home, the weather will take a toll on your Pavers. The sun and rain washes away the sand that are in the brick joints which will cause erosion and cause the bricks to become uneven. The sun will fade the colors of the bricks. Weeds will grow and ants may become a problem.
For our Brick Paver Sealing we use Seal'n Lock Products which are a water based sealer that will harden the sand in the joints and make it difficult for weeks to grow. You can choose a Brick Paver Sealer that will give your pavers a Wet Look giving them a beautiful appearance and will accent the stones. Brick Paver Sealing will protect the brick pavers from the sun and prevent the pavers from fading by providing a durable and strong UV Protection.
Seal'n Lock Products are water based with low volatile organic compound (VOC) content as an alternative to solvent-based products. The system allows you to enjoy your project without substantial dry times. Seal'n Lock Products have minimal odor and not harmful to the environment.
There are 4 easy steps to apply the sealer:
Power wash the patio to start with a clean surface and remove any stains.
Remove any uneven bricks and add sand to even them out.
Fill the joints between the bricks with new sand, sweep enough into the joints between the bricks to fill them back up.
Apply 2 coats of the water-based sealer using a garden sprayer.
Using a good quality water-based sealer like Seal'n Lock will protect your Pavers and keep them looking beautiful for many years to come.
